Visit the Emerald Coast from the campsite

The Emerald Coast. It starts in Cancale and ends at Cap Fréhel, and is located only 1h15 from the campsite.

Another part of the Côtes d’Armor to discover not far from our camping near Bréhat. The Côte d’Émeraude (why Emerald? simply related to the colour of the sea, so imagine…!), a paradise for hikers, whether you’re on foot, by bike or on horseback…a walk full of colours…

It stretches over some forty kilometres. There are 350 kms of marked paths including the GR34.

A magnificent landscape, a generous nature (what luck!), not to mention a very rich heritage, city of sailors and navigators a few minutes from the campsite.

Top 3 things to see on the Emerald Coast

Don’t miss out near the Emerald Coast campsite:

  • Cape Fréhel. The cliffs overhang the sea at more than 70 metres. Cape Fréhel is a site classified as an “ornithological reserve”, its cliffs of schist and pink sandstone offer one of the most beautiful views of Brittany. On a clear day, you may be able to make out the Channel Islands of Jersey.
  • Fort La Latte. near Cap Fréhel. Come and visit this magnificent 14th century feudal castle also known as “Château de la Roche Goyon”.

Fort La Latte is one of the most visited castles in Brittany, its building has retained: its dungeons, its drawbridge, its dungeons…. It is thanks to its authenticity, Fort La Latte is a very popular site where many films have been shot.

  • Saint Castel le Guildo. A charming little resort, with its small fishing port and numerous fine sandy beaches (as well as its little secret coves…), as well as a green hinterland, with wooded valleys.

Fishing on the beaches of Lancieux and St-Jacut-de-la-mer…. Unfathomable green, pink sandstone cliffs, white shores, golden dunes, setting sun….

Its colours and landscapes have inspired painters of all eras.
